Pucks ‘N Pipsqueaks

Last night the Capitals introduced a new event to their ever-expanding list of fan events: Sticks ‘n Sneakers. It’s Hockey ‘n Heels for the younger set. Membership in the Capitals Kids Club has quickly grown, and the Caps figured there would be interest in such an event. They were right; all 120 tickets for the event quickly sold out.

After Last Night, King Is Out to Hunt More Bruins

Capitals head coach Bruce Boudreau described D.J. King’s presence in Tuesday’s preseason game like having “a big brother out there.” But when a hit from the Bruins’ Gregory Campbell to Alex Ovechkin brought both to a near-fight in the third, King was stuck watching helplessly from the bench, all while Ovechkin got two minutes for slashing and Campbell received two minutes for boarding.

A Blend of Skill and Grit Wins the Duchesne Cup

We couldn’t help but notice that the Duchesne Cup squad that went out and acquired a Tier I enforcer in the offseason — Ovi’s Army, which featured D.J. King — proved triumphant in the opening week competition that concluded at KCI yesterday.
