Hockey 'n Heels 3: Slap Shot Edition

On Saturday the Capitals hosted their third annual Hockey ‘n Heels event. Over 300 women attended the event, which sold out in less than two days.

The Washington Capitals announced that Karl Alzner and Chris Bourque have been assigned to the Hershey Bears. Quintin Laing was placed on waivers and, if cleared, will report to Hershey.

Oh Boyd! One Capital Left to Sign

The Washington Capitals have signed Boyd Gordon to a one year deal.  Tarik El-Bashir is reporting the deal is worth $725,000.  That leaves Shaone Morrisonn as the final player to sign.  Morrisonn has filed for arbitration and the hearing has been set for July 24th.

Fehr in the Fold

The Caps today inked right wing Eric Fehr to a one-year deal. The modest details can be found here.
The signing leaves only Shaone Morrisonn and Boyd Gordon without contracts for 2008-09. Morrisonn has filed for arbitration.
