I should have been more specific...I was referring to the contributors..Elizabeth for example. Why are you giving Adam Oates such a pass for what is happening? The OFB writers and contributors didn't hold back on Bruce and he is a far better coach! .....???

Oates wasn't dealt the best hand by GMGM when he took the job as my prior post mentioned. For all I know, he may now regret taking the job after seeing first hand the mess in DC. If the season continues going south, I imagine Oates will start getting increased criticism. Keep your eye on Riberio. He is an unrestriced free agent after this season. If he refuses to re-sign with the Caps, that tells me he wants no more part of the can of worms that is the Caps' hockey situation. Same applies to Brouwer.

Good points but in two seasons--this one and last year's--we've used three coaches with basically the same personnel. Fehr's point regarding rookies is a good one but the fact staring one in the face is they were all chosen by GMGM. A good friend of mine was close to Bruce Budreau and he told my friend Re a GMGM trade that he found out about it from the media. Bruce, according to my friend, and I assume the other coaches in the triumvirate, have no input on personnel. True the young guns aren't so young but neither are they grey beards either. There seems to be rot in the team that is being revealed by lack-luster play and mistakes that seasoned professionals shouldn't be making on a regular basis. My opinion, and I hope events on the ice will prove me wrong,is the rot starts with the player wearing the "C." He seems to be satisfied with collecting his paycheck and showing up for games. At this rate moving his contract will be impossible unless the Cap's pay a good part of it--Jagr two, perhaps? Maybe this is viewing the glass as half-empty but I'm a pessimist by nature and I don't see the Cap's turning things around this season, nor in the future as long as GMGM is calling the shot. I hope I'm wrong.
