This morning there was an ad on ESPN.com’s NHL page that caused me to do a double-take: ticket reseller StubHub seemed to already know what days the Caps’ Round 2 games would be. Whaaaaa?

This news, of course, could be of interest to the Capitals, the NHL, their fans, right? But looking at the game dates, how likely is it that the Caps’ Round 2 Game 1 is tomorrow night, April 28? Not very—approximately 20 hours’ notice to ticket-holding fans would be ludicrous . . . not to mention the Caps’ opponent, whichever team that may be, is playing tonight and would likely appreciate a day off between rounds.
Like history’s most famous soothsayer Nostradamus, StubHub seems to have pulled their prognostications out of, erm, we’ll go with “thin air.”

Especially if that opponent is Montreal, who would be playing their third game in three nights.
Yes, that would be nice, Habs win in a triple overtime tonight with tons of blocked shots, hop on the plane take a few hours of sleep and and play us tomorrow evening in Verizon Center!
Oh, I forgot to mention the most important detail: …and because everything happens so fast, I’m able to buy a $100 ticket for a decent seat by just showing up at Verizon Center 20 mins before the game!!!
@ Peerless, excellent point!
@ Martin, that would be nice indeed… but I predict Friday night and Sunday matinee (perhaps 3:00 pm).
Bring on the Bolts! Caps in 5! Tweets are saying DC-TB on Friday and Phil-Bos on Saturday.
Confirmed by the Caps. Friday at 7 pm.
@Colin Awesome, bring it on!
