33 years ago today, Elvis Presley died at his Graceland mansion. Well here’s our little tribute to The King: three of the table cards my wife and I made for our wedding, mixing her love of Elvis with, of course, hockey.
Rather than just table numbers, each guest card assigned you to a table by naming its penalty, as in “Jane Doe / Elbowing.” A few women at the “Hooking” table got a particularly wry chuckle out of the gimmick.

So as fans around the world pay their respects to The King, cue up an Elvis song on your iPod today and enjoy.

Elvis is dead? Come on Jack, EAP ain’t dead. Next thing you’re gonna tell me the Caps are trading for a defensive defenseman complete with grit. BTW I think I was seated at the Charging table. Peanut butter and ‘nana sandwich anyone?
Hey Mike,
My wife and I just celebrated anniversary #22 on Friday the 13th:) Gretzky was traded from Edmonton to LA just four days earlier in 1988.
Would have been great to see Elvis do the anthem at a Predators’ game!
Best,

Ralph, congrats on the anniversary!
And I *love* the idea of an anthem at a Preds game by an Elvis impersonator — unless they can find the King himself, of course.
Sadly this season the Preds are in San Jose on January 8, but eventually this needs to happen.
