Thanks, Caps, for allowing me to do a victory dance while my Penguin-loving family looked on!

Amazing game. For all the Pens fans complaining about the PP in OT: at least Orpik touched Semin, which is more than we can say about the call on Schultz with 4 minutes remaining in regulation.

There is a sane person in Pittsburgh, this was posted after a litany of Ovi/Caps hating posts on their team board.
“How exactly did they cheat this game? Seems to me we got a good number of the breaks and still blew a three goal lead. Maybe we should acknowledge the fact that the Cap’s are for real and are dangerous. But making lame and baseless excuses is easier, right?”

What a game, I was hoping the Caps would win, the media and the Pens will use travel as excuse for loss. Heading to the Confluence for a work assignment this week, should be interesting.

    That officiating stunk.

    And the Terps crushed UNC.

  10. The refs were abysmal — they showed the reply of Matt Cooke’s stick breaking all on its own (seriously, no Cap even near his stick), yet it resulted in a slashing call. I’m so impressed that the Capitals pulled it out of their hats(trick).

How ironic is it the Bears beat the Baby Pens by a 5-4 win and had to come from a 3 goal deficit.

For hockey (and football) I wish there was some kind of replay system for penalties cause sometimes (and a lot of the time yesterday) the refs blow it with a bad call/no call.

What a classic game, real nail biter. Perfect game for national TV, the two premier players in the NHL put on a show. It’s too bad NBC couldn’t put together premier coverage. You have two rivals on the ice and they are more interested in plugging their golf coverage which nobody is going to watch considering the Super Bowl pre-game stuff. There was no follow-up on penalty calls, games stats were nonexistent and then they switch to golf 2 secs after the overtime goal. No post game coverage—NBC get it together. If NBC wants to cover hockey than their production team needs to know a little about the game or hire the locals.
