Two affiliated hockey teams, with 120 points achieved between them before the middle of January. Both the Capitals and Hershey Bears this morning sit perched high atop their respective divisions with 6o points each, enjoying comfortable double-digit distance from the second-place clubs below them.
The Bears last night set a franchise record for the longest winning streak in team history, winning their 12th straight game by a 3-2 final in Manitoba. That’s a whole lot of winning history to better.
Hershey became the first team in the American League this season to reach the 60-point plateau with Saturday’s win.
Hershey has not lost since December 11, 2009, and will have gone more than a month without defeat when it takes to the ice Wednesday night in Norfolk.
Braden Holtby is now 11-1-1 this season.
