AL’s exact quote was that dc would rather ” talk about ovechkin then kvetch about the redskins.”. It was a long, cheap way to get in a Yiddish zinger at the end of a boring game. While I’d like to think al was making a serious point about the state of pro sports in dc, I think he was just going for laughs. Would have been great if he. Could have cross promoted the caps in the winter classic, but that is something we can only kvetch about. Meshuginna NHL.
Can anyone post these clips on Youtube?

Neither team has a star you’d call marketable to a casual audience. Puckheads know Chris Pronger, Mike Richards, Milan Lucic, Zdeno Chara and Tim Thomas; casual sports fans probably think we’ve just named five U.N. ambassadors. Where would the buzz for this game be if Alex Ovechkin and the first-place Washington Capitals had gotten the nod over the Flyers? Because Ovechkin was mentioned more on Sunday Night Football than any current Flyer or Bruin.
