He was good vs the Plyers in 2008. He was good against the Rangers (Round 1) last year. Unfortunately, Brooks Orpik kept going for him in Game 1 of the Pens series and slashed his thumb at the end of Game 1 AFTER the whistle had been blown. So, Semin's thumb was damaged and he couldn't shoot properly. It's not that Semin can't do anything in playoffs. He was going fine until Orpik did his damage. (Even so, he had several key assists in the series). On Semin's Plus Minus. He was a significant minus early in his career but last year stepped up his game and had the best Plus minus on the team. The Caps have plenty of weapons in their arsenal to unleash, this is not a one-dimensional team. Given the additional icetime that all will be getting, I expect some will increase their offensive production. Who do the opposition shadow now? Game plans will need to be altered, surely, as games wear on. Let's go Caps, do Ovie proud. They will all be looking to him to generate offense. It will be fine with me if he doesn't score a bunch of goals but if he can make opportunities for his linemates to score it will even be better.
