Per the St. Pete Times, it seems the Southeastern Conference is tightening it’s grip on what the media can do during the games. It is further defining “how much audio, video and “real-time” blogging they can do at games, practices and news conferences”. Perhaps you don’t want to undermine the outlets that are paying to broadcast games. I don’t agree with this view, but I can understand the view.

It’s really one of the things I like best about our readers — carrying forward the passion of winter to summer, and taking to beaches, boats, and mountaintops donned from head to flip-flop in red, and enlivening our forum in summer by sharing the digital delight of the moments.

In a very much welcomed breakup of the August routine, I’m out at Kettler Capitals Iceplex this morning, where Arturs Irbe has just been introduced as the Capitals’ new goaltending coach. Dave Prior has left the club after 12 seasons.
