Spike Is Born

Three years ago we discussed (okay, to be honest, poked some fun at) the owners of a hockey franchise registering a patent on the team name The Fighting Walleye. Well Spike, the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye mascot, debuted recently, adding a foam-bodied exclamation point to the Walleye hockey franchise.

And no, despite rumors that we just made up (e5!), the mascot was not named after Washington Capitals Director of New Media Sean “Spike” Parker.
