I snapped this picture behind a players’ bench during Wednesday afternoon’s Development Camp scrimmage. As I considered whether or not to post it on OFB I had the thought that on one level it could be said to capture the essence of Development Camp: the promise of today’s youthful and would-be Caps set against the backdrop of legends of Capitals past. I love Development Camp because it returns hockey to Washington in what’s commonly the hockey-unfriendly temps in muggy middle summer, but yesterday I think I found a new reason to appreciate it, and it wasn’t lost on me that one Dale Hunter paid a visit to camp yesterday.
