3 Keys to the Game:
1) Pay more attention to Crosby
2) But don’t forget Malkin
3) Score First…
I was on a few Pens sites ruffling there feathers all day. Most of them believe the penguins have Varly all figured out. I believe a major point in tonight’s game is to score first and score often (more pp goals). It seemed when we were up on them they lost their will to skate. I have a college class again tonight so I am hoping to get updates from my son and through here. Keep the updates coming. Thanks and
GO CAPS!!!
My alarm clock is set for 1:00 am (France time). My computer is logged-on to the ESPN360.com NHL playoff package I bought. Die-hard Capitals fans have no international boundaries.
Allez les Rouges!!
Nice love to see that. Is it raining there? Horrible day here in PA also DC weather is bad.
Who thinks King Karl’s going to get in the game, and how much to the Pens key on setting up mismatches against him? Let’s hope he’s playing like he did earlier in the year rather than how he was right before he left. He’s such a nice guy and I really want to see him do well…
I agree with the keys to the game (watch Crosby and keep double-teaming Malkin) and we’ll figure out which Caps show up in the first 2 min. of the game.
As for figuring Varly out, good luck with that prospect. Even Coach Bruce won’t talk to him and get a read on what he’s thinking.
What if the same could be said about Fleury? Ovechkin hit several posts and they too missed lots of chances, in fact, I was impressed at how poised the Caps were coming out of the gate.
Bruce will keep em on target. Let’s Go Caps.
FREAKING FINALLY! Let’s get this done!
OMG, what is going on??? What is with all these penalties against the Caps??
Incidentally, I don’t like that Joe B. and Locker aren’t calling this game on Versus. What’s up with that?
Andrew and I are seated next to Caps’ goaltending coach Dave Prior, and he’s smiling a lot right now.
Huge kill of the 5 on 3 there. Let’s go boys!
Prior has got to be happy. What a way to move laterally to stop Crosby. That was outstanding.
As he should be. Varlamov is fantastic.
Someone check the ref’s dressing room. Their seeing eye dog must ne getting lonely.
Could we have gotten any more BOOOOOOGUUUUUUUS calls.
Nice dive buy Guerin to send Green to the box for a trip. How in the heck can you kick someone’s feet out from under them by hitting them in the shoulders? Sid has taught his team mates well.
But it’s good to see that the Pen’s have Varley figured out.
awesome start…nice passing…I miss joe b and laughlin too…but we get them for game 4 though
Anyone else notice Bruce has been double shifting Ovie between the 1st and 4th lines lately. Noticed it during the 3rd period on Saturday, and he seems to be doing it again in both the first and now the second periods.
GOAAAALLLL!! WHOOP!
Okay this is very exciting, but we need to stop trading goals. We need to get head of them and stay there.
I hate this team.
There’s the easy way, the hard way, and the Caps way.
File this under FWIW: the Caps outscored the Pens 10-1 in the third period during the regular season. That’s particularly impressive when you consider that JT was manning the pipes then.
I hope that’s a good omen. The Penguins seem particularly vicious tonight. Is it just that it’s Playoffs?
The more things change…that was Gonchar who was abused by Ovi for his third goal. Heh,
SCHWEEEEEEET!!!!!!
So, both Stars make Hat tricks. The NHL marketing people must be joygasming right now.
Sindy Crysby is just a garbage goal getter. Beer leaguers could have gotten those in
Brilliant game by Ovie and -Gmann’s exceedingly optimistic view of the talents of beer leaguers everywhere notwithstanding – by Crosby too.
I think that’s a gut punch game for the Pens; they played better, they got some breaks (bogus calls from the refs) and they played well enough to win – but still didn’t.
Let’s see if the Caps have the killer instinct now – if they are going to succeed in later rounds, they need to put on a huge push in the next game. With a win, they have their feet on the Penguins’ throats.
