Who cares about a national anthem? Baseless nationalism is why our governments can manipulate the public into stupid wars. I feel like ranting and raving here, but a comment section in a hockey blog is barely the right place to go off. I'm Canadian and this country disgusts me. The US disgusts me as well.
Also, why we sing national anthems at a commericial sporting event is beyond me. All the teams have a mix from many different countries. I'd rather each team had its own anthem. That would probably be funner and make more sense.

I wouldn't have expected anything less from Montreal fans.
We Canadians are an interesting case when it comes to booing of our own national anthem. Having lived through the French/English debates of the 80's and 90's, I have heard Oh Canada being booed when sung in the language of the opposing sides of the debate, depending on the city in question. Montreal (and Quebec City) fans booed when it was sung in english, Toronto and Alberta cities booed when it was in French. Add to the problem when the anthem was sung half French and half English, so every one booed regardless of language.
At least the American anthem didn't get a rewrite after 50 years, throwing every one into chaos. Change the words, so we end up singing two different versions, so we sound like a bunch of unpatriotic hacks mumbling away. Then if the switch in language comes into play, it just sounds horrible.
But we're still proud.

What did Boston do for the American Anthem?
And we've seen much worse goaltender interference calls, and non-calls, in the playoffs than that. (Brodeur hasn't been quite the same since coming back from his injury.)

I think you have you're Goaltending Masons mixed up. While Chris has been great in St. Louis over the last couple months, the rookie phenom is Steve over in Columbus.
And as a Penguins fan, there is no worse noise than hearing AO whooping it up after scoring a goal, so I have to dislike him. However, a guy that comes out to applaud the fans, goes down to the bench for Rangers practice to get in their heads, and plays the way he does will always have my respect.
Don't count the Caps out and good luck...
