"They took what was ours…"

Having a crazy work schedule this week, I finally got to sit down and enjoy some hockey on Center Ice.  I flipped to the Devils/Hurricanes game on the Fox Sports Carolinas feed.  I got a chuckle out of their promotion for Saturday’s Capitals / Hurricanes game.

Bring it.

Hey, Caniac Brainiacs…they still have it, and they’re going to have it when the season ends. Don’t you folks do ‘rithmetic very well?

Classic. They controlled their own destiny, but I suppose that doesn’t make for a good promotional spot…

Silly Canes. They’re funny. We took what was theirs? I guess they need the marketing. We’re not the ones who had to get 3 points in 3 (or 4) games and couldn’t get it done.
Guess what canes… we’re not letting go of this division for a number of years, so get use to it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Capitals_seasons 10 years since you went past the 1st round, way to go! Any GM/owner that can’t rebuild with those great draft picks has to be horrid.
Mock the canes for the past 2 seasons all you want but we’ve been to the finals twice in those same 10 years and won it all once. Can you say that? I think not.
How many capitals fan commenting here were even fans before last season? Or went to a game? I bet not many looking at empty stands most games for the previous few years. Congrats on your savior.

if you like the canes so much, why are you wasting your (and their) precious time on a caps-centric blog?
p.s. i was there before the lockout. so take your pretentious attitude and use it to build up your team rather than embarrassing yourself on other teams’ blogs.

    “Or went to a game?”
    Been to several.
    “Congrats on your savior.”
Thank you. He looks forward to lighting up Ward for a hat trick.

Canesfan, why so defensive? We’re not mocking the Canes…just the Canes promo spot.
In any case, to answer your question I have been a Caps season ticket holder since 2001.

At least Washington has had a hockey team longer than 10 years.
%99 of the population in North Carolina can’t tell the difference between a blue line and a clothesline. Get real.
    Tradition? Abandoned in Hartford.
And by the way Canes fans, if you’re wearing a Whalers jersey, you’re not rooting for the Canes.
    Idiot posers.

I’ve been a fan since th early 80′s. Spent most of high school and college doing my homework listening to Ron Weber. Had 10 game plans before travel committments for games and moving out of the area got in the way.
Remeber when Yvon Labre’s jersey banner was the only Caps one hanging in the rafters.

I’m not sure what’s funnier: the promo, or the nice little visit by CanesFan slinging that same tired and false stereotypes about Capitals fans.

  15. I’m a Canes fan that doesn’t get all pretentious, doesn’t hate on any other teams besides the mandatory ribbings – and agrees that for the most part, the Canes’ marketing spots are stupid/corny as hell.
Oh yeah – and Caps bloggers are outstanding! JP is a daily stop. Should be a fun one in Raleigh on Saturday!
