Having a crazy work schedule this week, I finally got to sit down and enjoy some hockey on Center Ice. I flipped to the Devils/Hurricanes game on the Fox Sports Carolinas feed. I got a chuckle out of their promotion for Saturday’s Capitals / Hurricanes game.

Silly Canes. They’re funny. We took what was theirs? I guess they need the marketing. We’re not the ones who had to get 3 points in 3 (or 4) games and couldn’t get it done.

Mock the canes for the past 2 seasons all you want but we’ve been to the finals twice in those same 10 years and won it all once. Can you say that? I think not.
How many capitals fan commenting here were even fans before last season? Or went to a game? I bet not many looking at empty stands most games for the previous few years. Congrats on your savior.

I’ve been a fan since th early 80′s. Spent most of high school and college doing my homework listening to Ron Weber. Had 10 game plans before travel committments for games and moving out of the area got in the way.
Remeber when Yvon Labre’s jersey banner was the only Caps one hanging in the rafters.
I’m not sure what’s funnier: the promo, or the nice little visit by CanesFan slinging that same tired and false stereotypes about Capitals fans.
I’m a Canes fan that doesn’t get all pretentious, doesn’t hate on any other teams besides the mandatory ribbings – and agrees that for the most part, the Canes’ marketing spots are stupid/corny as hell.
Oh yeah – and Caps bloggers are outstanding! JP is a daily stop. Should be a fun one in Raleigh on Saturday!
