So..overload on centers tonight? I’m still not a big fan of Nyles on that top line.
What the hell was the point of those two fights? I’m fine with fighting if there is a reason, but just dropping the gloves just to do it or “get the team fired up” is retarded.
It’s an intensity thing I guess. I do love me some Matt Bradley.
BTW Jay Beagle has a really good first few shifts. Nice little call-up braintrust!
nice shot Flash, he needs to start heating up, our super speedy transition game has gotten us alot of goals but when we get down there we need to be alittle more patient sometimes and exercise some more options.
Gotta love the effort by Flash and Fehr tonight…really encouraging.
Wow, if this goal ends up standing, that is 100% Morrison’s fault. Piss poor D. We now have 8 blue liners, why is he still playing?
Agreed. Congratulations are in order for Mr. Green though. WTG Mike!
Leave it to our defense to get their terrible offense going.
we have the best offense in the league and the worst defense in the league.
GREENIE!
5 UNREAL 2
Wow.
I’m not sure our problems on D are 100% the fault of the defense. Our forwards have not held the puck in the offensive zone at all this game, or many games at all to be honest. We’ve spent the majority of the game in our own zone trying to clear the puck. Our forwards need to do some back checking and help get the puck out of the zone…not to mention picking up their late guys as they skate into the zone.
Don’t get me wrong, our D isn’t playing well at all (even Poti is having a really bad game), but it’s not all their fault.
That’s a good point Phil. I think it’s notable that for the most part, the 3rd and 4th lines have done a great job of cycling the puck in the NYR zone, but it seems to me like the first line hasn’t done that in at least a week. Just a thought.
@Phil, thats kinda the thing, our speedy offense does us well, but the results would probably not be the same if we had a scheme where our forwards needed to help in our zone, so what do we do? we need balance. were flashy but balance on D and O wins cups. i hope we figure it out.
@Rannells, you’re right about the first line. That’s one of the big reasons why Kozlov is so important to this team and we don’t play nearly as well without him. No one on that first line works the boards and keeps that pressure on.
@Jay, we’re not a team built for balance. The system we use requires our forwards to put three or four goals in a game because we’re going to give up one or two each night. Will that system work in the long term? Only time will tell. I’m going to guess that it will need to be changed a bit.
2 bull s@#*t calls
Mo = Scratch in Tampa
Hey go figure, Morrison with another bone head play.
I guess since we didn’t start the game down 4 goals we need to do something to make it “hard”.
PK lets Mo off the hook…for now…
Don’t like our chances in the SO without Koz. If we were going to take it we needed Fehr to put that one away. Hopefully I’m wrong.
Yet another piss poor game by the Caps. A few guys like Fehr, Flash and Green stand out as playing well. The rest of the guys just looked flat and uninspired. Really poor game by the top line.
