The Jackets may be mediocre, but I had been looking forward to this game because Rick Nash is something special to watch. Unfortunately, I’m more likely to be eating dinner next to Nash in the Acela Club then I am to see him on the ice tonight.

Ummmmm, I think Nash got hurt the other night, not sure if her is going to be in the line-up or not. The Jackets have a rash of injuries right now, but they have a young and talented squad that cannot be overlooked. Plus this is somewhat of a revenge game being the took us on their home ice 3-0.

Strikes me as a bit of a trap game. Easy to overlook the mediocre at home after the big game with Philly and the night before a road game in Mecca.

    Yeah, a trap game.
However, heard in an interview on the radio (don’t remember which player) that they’re trying to win this one so the coach can go to the AllStar game.
So at least there’s some motivation.
    Speaking of the game…

According to Tarik’s blog, Fed’s and Fleischmann are back in the line up for tonight. Due to this, Nylander and Fehr are healthy scratches.

Is the move to put Poti on long-term IR retro-active, and if so, how long will it be before he returns (minimum)? No hurry, mind you, since from what I hear Alzner gets sent back down with Poti’s return and he never takes penalties… EVER! Keep it up, young-un… GMGM’ll get you up here full-time ASAP!

I hope the fans see fit to sing Bruce “happy birthday” tonight at the game, and the Caps give us all another present in the form of excellent play.

Yes, the long term IR is retro-active. I think I read something that says he’d be able to come back on Wednesday.
For players on IR, do they get their full salary? I know they go on LTIR to free up caps space, but I’m guessing that doesn’t mean they don’t get paid. Is that correct?

Shots are 4-0 early. Good to see Feds back in the starting lineup.
