I was there Monday with my brother, and you should know that Brash has actually come a few times now to Ft Dupont. He is one of the nicest guys, despite his reputation as such a tough guy. It is great to see him suporting these two worthwhile hockey programs.

Ah, takes me back to a Summer hockey camp when Craig Berube spent some time showing us how to skate, shoot, and keep an opponent at bay while pummeling his face. Seriously though, “The Chief” was one of the coolest people I have ever met. He took time to help every single kid at that camp with skating, edge control, and shooting (this was a shooters and goalies camp). He was patient with the “show me how to fight” questions and really had fun teaching kids the fundamentals of the game.

There’s a reason Fort Dupont is generally regarded as having some the best ice in the metro area: its really, really cold there. Compare that to the Verizon Center’s sno-cone/slush rink. Its about 65 degrees in there.
