Number 27 in your program will now read D Karl Alzner. The Caps Media Relations blog has the story.
“Alzner
wore 27 with the Calgary Hitmen and the Canadian National Junior Team.
Alzner and Mike Green both idolize Scott Niedermayer of the Anaheim
Ducks, who has worn No. 27 for years. Green also wore 27 in the WHL and
flirted with the idea of changing this summer, but decided to stick
with 52. When he did that, it freed up 27 for Alzner.“
With apologies to Paul Harvey, be sure to check out Welcome to the Show for the rest of the story.

But why in todays (11-28) game notes is he still listed as 47?
Notes were “printed” and not updated after the number change.
Save that program with the number misprinted, its hockey trivia in the making! Sports memorabilia is rife with hiccups like this right?
Get a copy of the media guide (it’s also online on the Caps web site) and take note of the range of numbers Kolzig has worn for the organization.
