The Washington Capitals Red Rockers Headshots

Red Rockers BannerWith all eyes on the west coast road trip, the Washington Capitals quietly debuted the Red Rockers presence on the team's web site.  The eager eye of the official message boards sniffed it out.  There are no individual bios -- at least not yet -- but there are headshots of all 16 ladies and just for the female hockey fan, one guy.

Also on the Red Rockers page are links to a photo gallery, a video of the tryouts, and a tryout diary from one of the girls, Emme.  At least one of the Red Rockers can skate as Emme is a former competitive figure skater and a professional skating coach.

This Red Rocker seems to have been left off the web page.

One assumes that the haters will be out again over this.

"and look at that banner. Look at how those girls are showing too much skin." etc etc

As one of the girls who tried out (I'm almost rather ashamed of it now, but eh *shrug*), kinda fun seeing myself in the video for the first day.

Little known fact: the group was originally the 'Capscapades'. They held a contest for it, with Red Rockers coming in second...the winning name and banner and team only shows up for a second in the video, though they did a few minutes of shooting with us.

Ah well...I think I prefer being a mere fan anyway~ :D

I don't think he's there for the female fans....

"...there are headshots of all 16 ladies and just for the female hockey fan, one guy."

Why only one?!? Personally, the Red Rockers wouldn't irk me so much if they were more co-ed.

Also, that outfit of the 'forgotten Red Rocker' would be more kick ass than the actual outfits they currently wear. Just get the Bedazzler out so the jerseys can be distinguished from regular fans and, Ta-Da!!! Just my humble opinion =)

The other day I spotted the little stuffed polar bear I gave my gf several years ago-Frostbite is his name and he was the mascot for the ECHL Chesapeake Icebreakers (Tampa Bay affiliate, coached by Knuckles Nilan. He took them to the playoffs, too.). FWIW, Frostbite made me remember the 'Breakers had a 3-girl dance/cheer squad during their second (and final) season in Upper Marlboro.

That doesn't really add to this discussion, though perhaps I might mention storage space for that little trivia tidbit has wasted another ten brain cells.

I think they're great. They look like hot girls next door, approachable types..in my mind thats sexier than the redskin girls who are money men hungry and would never even give me a second look. (a side note: I'm not a bad looking guy-if girls weren't money snobs I could probably get a redskin girl)

What exactly do the red rockers do other than throw t-shirts and help with between period activities?

Why do they need a fitness test I don't get it...

Don't get me wrong they are very pretty girls but I'm just not sure why they need all the training they are 'subjected' to.
