A week ago the nominees for the NHL All-Star Game were announced, and today the polls have opened at vote.nhl.com. Alexander Ovechkin, Alexander Semin, and Mike Green are on the ballot, but feel free to write in your favorite Capital.
Since NHL voting is not restricted by Federal or State election laws (nice thought though, Starbucks), the league is offering fans an extra incentive to submit their ballots: all those voting will be entered into a contest for a trip to Montreal and tickets to the All-Star Game.

So, if you vote via text message to 81812, and type in the players last name of your choice *coughsemincough* you can send that same texts to 10 recipients on most phones. Those 10 recipients can all be 81812 if you so choose. So, technically, per text (if you have unlimited like me, thanks Verizon) you can vote 10 times.
tried voting a couple times but the page wasn’t loading properly/extremely slowly. I’ll try again in a few days.
Those damned Canadien fans are ALL over this…Hamrlik and Komisarek as the starting defencemen? Really?

Good lord, Wittcap79 is right. This is ridiculous. The Canadiens have the starting 5. 29K votes already for Koivu? Really? 3 Canadiens players with double the votes than any western conference player? Methinks a Canadien fan wrote a program to auto vote for them.
check that. 5 Canadiens players have almost double the votes of any western conference player.
From what I understand in Mirtle’s blog, there a “straight ticket” option when voting that allows you to vote for everyone on the same team.
The best part is that the order you vote for them in is the same order they scored tonight.
(and now Semin just scored again, hehe)
