Congratulations to Hershey Bears’ rookie netminder Simeon Varlamov, who tonight earned the first shutout of his North American professional hockey career. Varlamov turned aside all 19 shots he faced on the road in Albany as the Bears blanked the River Rats 3-0.
Valamov was named the game’s first star. Fellow rookie Mathieu Perreault earned two assists.
