Changing to the new server and blogging platform, the commenting function broke. Thanks to the work of the folk at MVN and Six Apart, comments are back up and running.
Additionally, we’d like to take this opportunity to introduce our new readers — as well as remind our regular readers — to our Comment Policy. We encourage discussion and hope our posts provide a springboard for thoughtful, constructive, and/or entertaining dialogue. We don’t tolerate those who “talk” big behind the anonymity of the internet and the ever present trolls.
Here is the OFB Comment Policy:
On Frozen Blog reserves the right to monitor comments posted and to modify or remove any comments that we deem, in our sole discretion, to include the following:
* advertisements, spam, or other solicitations
* pornography
* potentially libelous comments
* profane, obscene or racist comments
* disparaging comments
* personal attacks, insults, or threatening language
* comments totally unrelated to the topic of the forum
* private, personal information published without consent
* hyperlinks to material that is not directly related to the discussion
* other content we deem inappropriate
Additionally, anyone who on a regular basis offers only contributions that impart heat as opposed to light, devaluing the visiting experience for the reading majority, will be permanently banished.

Bring back the old OFB this new site is hideous and seems much less attractive than the old one. I don’t see the need for an upgrade
i really don’t like this layout either! the other one was so much simpler, but whatever. what’s done is done i guess.
Are there supposed to be a few links in that blue bar on the top of the page? I scroll over it and get sports related menus. Is the new layout Firefox friendly?
There are supposed to be top-bar links, though I don’t see them either so I suppose MVN is still working on that. Obviously this transition to a new provider and server has taken much longer than we’d hoped, but let’s hope we’re near the end of the service problems.
Sam & Semin, we did our best to keep the look-and-feel of OFB — if you browse to MVN.com you’ll see that most of their partner sites look MUCH different, so we preserved as much OFB-vibe as we could.
GlvSv37, yes there are supposed to be links back to the various parts of the MVN Network. The code is there, but there is a display problem (not confined to FireFox).
In moving to the new server and blogging platform, various stuff broke. Our priorities were to make sure all four of us could login (50% success at the beginning) and that you could comment.
Next on the list is to get our complete archives imported and back up and running. There have been some formatting issues, too.

We are still tweaking the site to retain as much of the old look and feel as we can. At this point, the main change is the look of the comments along with a few slight navigation changes.
The main reason for all of these changes is moving to a stable platform (though you wouldn’t have known it last week) as our readership had outgrown the ability to host the site on the old servers. With the server change came a blogging platform change which naturally creates some inconsistencies.
I like the new look. OFB is rockin’ more red…
It’s not a Firefox issue, but an overall template issue which has since been fixed.
I’ve stayed away for a bit due to site issues but I’m happy that all is back and running! Always great info and banter here. And the comments, sometimes, make my day! Thanks for being so diligent! It’s nice to have my daily dose of you all again…
