  1. Solid game (though I only saw the first period before heading out to study for finals and work on a Case Competition).
I hope they carry this over here into Pittsburgh on Thursday. Though the powers that be here at B-School didn’t have tickets to give away to that game, it’d sure be fun to be able to finish off finals and walk into happy hour in my Ovie jersey.

Good win. They looked sharp on in all aspects of the game (except for maybe the Power Play).
    Today was better then Saturday.
Let’s make sure that Thursday is better then today.

I have to admit that my hockey enthusiasm was dampened today by what happened over in europe.

No mention of Johnny’s 100th win, nor the setting of a franchise record for fewest shots allowed? Or the fact it was ‘Canadian Heritage Night’ with nary a bowl of poutine to be found? ;)
Had a rowful of Canucks fans in front of me–after I yelled out something along the lines of, “Vancouver! Take a shot so Johnny can play!” in the second, they started yelling, “Mercy rule!” Why can’t all fans be Canadian?

  6. Ah Vic, worthy points both, but you know our Two-Point Toast file isn’t a game review, just a happy quaff to mark the win. More to come shortly as a separate post.
But the lack of poutine was indeed egregious. :)

Well, Vancouver sure did put the “poo” in poutine last night.

Great game last night! I had a marvelous time sitting in one of the student sections (Sec. 401, Row A, which you cannot beat for $15).

That second period was about as dominant as I’ve seen in a long while. When the mites came out to clean up the ice during the TV time-out, the boys working in front of Johnny were hard pressed to find anything to scoop while the kids in front of Luongo kept piling shovel after shovel of loose snow into the barrels. I’m surprised the zamboni even bothered with the Caps defensive zone after the second, seeing as no one was down there.

    Oh, yeah. That’s right.
Obviously an early-season mental mistake. Sorry, dudes.

    Wes,
We had not heard of the Summer of Suds bracket tourney. Thanks for the link.
As to the identity of the pucksodas used in the pic, they will remain secret. The criteria for which were selected boiled down to what was in the house at the time — granted I have Guinness on tap at home, so you’ll know how I’m voting in the finals.

Nice picture. Too bad you had to ruin it with the non-Guinness pint there. Next time I want to see two pints of Guinness. :)

Quite the amazing performance last night. It was great chatting, may there be many more 5-1 wins in the future, and many more pints to be shared among Caps fans.
    Celebrating here in Maine!!!
