Hopefully modifying Honda’s advertising slogan in the title won’t get us sued . . . anyway, Honda has announced a partnership with the National Hockey League to become the Official Vehicle of the NHL. Per their press release:
“With more than 53 million fans in the United States and Canada, the NHL is a big part of the sports landscape in North America,” said Steve Center, vice president of advertising and public relations for American Honda. “Honda has a long history of supporting sports at all levels worldwide, and working with the NHL will give Honda a great opportunity to become an even bigger part of the hockey experience.”
No word yet on when we’ll see a Honda Ice Resurfacer.

For me, this is great news. I work for Honda, and can now proudly display Caps memorabilia in my office without upsetting the status quo. The company president is also a Caps fan, so he was only too eager to share this news with me (and we are based in PA, not DC, MD or Va). Go Caps!!!
I’d like to see a souped-up Honda Zamboni out there.
… that gets 6 rinks resurfaced per cubic yard of natural gas instead of 3 (what the hell do those machines run on, anyway?).
@ Wcapfan, if you festoon your office in Caps’ red, white and blue, send us a photo! You’ll be visual proof that being in PA and having good taste in NHL teams don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
Hey Mike. Being a Caps fan in central PA is like swimming in an Amazonian river infested with pirahnas and the like (too many Flyers fans). I proudly hang my jersey in the office on game days (season ticket holder to Bears also), along with baseball caps, pucks, you name it…. My car parked out back is adorned with the usual Caps window stickers, clings, plate holder, front plate, and my license plate itself matches my user name above. Oh yes, Caps fever is alive and well up here. See you guys on Saturday when we take it to the Blackheads – hawks, sorry, typo.
Yeah, people in central PA usually have decent taste in hockey… which is probably the nicest thing about Pennsyltucky you’ll ever hear me say.
he he…the all-star game won’t be the same without Dodge. The Honda truck will have better re-sale value for the MVP.
