JR, I’m pretty certain that NHL 09 includes an option to use NHL 94 controls.
So unless I read it wrong, you can have *exactly* what you’re asking for.
No word on whether you can make “little [Sidney's] head bleed”.

I can’t keep up anymore. Too many buttons, joysticks and ‘skill sticks’. Oh how an old-timer like myself pines for NHL ’94 with ’09 rosters. Is there any doubt Ovechkin would supplant Jeremy Roenick as the most ridiculous player ever?

Anyone who played an NHL game last year knows NHL 08 was distinctly better than the 2k series, and shows no sign of slowing down. 2k simply can’t keep up anymore.
