Hmpf. I thought the Devils had signed Fedor a while ago
Best part of the article was seeing “Fedorov - younger brother of Washington Capitals star Sergei Fedorov” in print. We have Fedorov to skate with whoever for a whole season. Pinch me.
Kim, I agree — it’s still amazing to think of the sure-fire future HHOF inductee wearing a Capitals sweater this season.
Sombrero, Fedor has skated for the Canucks (15 games) and the Rangers (18 games), but not the Devils.
I think SG meant earlier in the summer (the rumors were out there, and even mistakenly were reported as Sergei signing with the Devs).
And in case anyone’s wondering - I was - the two brothers have never played against one another in the NHL, so that Oct. 18 game could be a first on that front.
Yeah, I remembered seeing a headline about Fedor Fedorov signing with the Devils like 2 weeks ago, but it must have been rumor speculation at that point.
It was mentioned by some spots at the beginning of July….but the official bit might have been held up a bit by the IIHF:
