   Just some quick personal observations from yesterday, in knee-jerk format:
   The Osala-Perreault-Butler line had some chemistry, and Perreault showed some fantastic hockey sense late in the game when, with two men on him in the corner, he backhanded a pass right out in front of the net.
   Bouchard looks like he’s trying too hard. He’s shooting for corners and just missing, and his puckhandling is strong, but he either overhandles and doesn’t use his teammates, or holds the puck and his teammates don’t use the time to get open. It’s a fine line, I don’t think there’s a consensus on it.
   Lots of hitting yesterday, it was refreshing.
   Michael Dubuc (who?) looked like he was trying to get someone’s attention. A slick move for the first goal, a solid second goal, and he hit what seemed like 3 more pipes. This year’s Jay Beagle?
   Neuwirth had a fantastic full-body sprawl/spin glove save in close. Highlight reel stuff.
   Karl Alzner broke up a 3 on 1 against in the neutral zone by himself. Seriously. It was a great display of anticipation , positioning and skating. He just doesn’t screw up.
   Sasha Pokulok was infuriating. He almost got a teammate killed by giving him a pass in the skates at center ice. The forward, Crowder, I think, wisely said “the Hell with that” and pulled up. Pokulok demonstrated his considerable talent twice, both times effortlessly taking the puck through the entire other team, but then would miss the pass after gaining the zone by 15 feet. Hopefully he can pull it together, but time is running out. Quickly.
   Alzner and Osala both look bigger. Osala looks like a man out there – big, fast, some skill, and an eagerness to hit.
   As we keep getting reminded over and over again, it was one scrimmage in July. Probably means little in the long-term, but those are some of the guys that stood out.

   Thank you for your recap! I don’t know Dubuc personally but I’ve seen him play in the QMJHL and I must admit he impressed me. He also has good statistics:

   He has an impressive total of 17 goals in 17 games in playoffs.
