"Contrast that with the reactions to playing in D.C. articulated this spring by new, free agent arrivals Sergei Fedorov and Cristobal Huet."
Talk is cheap. Until their actions match up (and the crop of RFAs do similarly), I'd be reluctant to crow too much.

To be Fair, only Matt Bradley has re signed with the Caps thus far. I just think its a matter of players want to get paid no matter what.

How about a battery check for our sense-of-humor challenged Monday readers?

Days like these are inherently contradictory... on the one hand, we all need extra coffee to wake up on Monday mornings. On the other, the looming July 1 date has us on edge and craving a beer.
Perhaps the compromise is an Irish Coffee? :)

JP, I agree that talk is cheap, but I'd much rather have the free agents I'm interested in at least SAY that they want to stay.
And I still can't believe that the salary cap floor this year is more than what several teams were spending prior to the lockout. Was losing a year of hockey really worth it for the owners?

I have to agree with Gmann! Gawd I hate that team and town. ;-)

I'm currently spending 3 days up here. If the overpowering smell of Chapstick doesn't get to you, the screwed up traffic will. I'm waiting to hear the moans and screams from all the fans as they watch the exodus go full bore in less than 24 hours.
I'd like to throw my 2 cents for "All of the above, and then some".

Popular demonizing of Crosby will skew this poll toward the second option, but I have it on good authority from at least a dozen Penguins fans in my men's ice league that Therrien is abysmal in the locker room.

Of course, "good authority" from a bunch of men's league players is a pretty obvious anachronism, so what do I know.
