A Haven for the Hockey Malnourished

The coldest days best warm my hockey heart

The Cup Returns to Hockeytown

What started out as a lopsided series finished with two barn burners. Kudos to the Penguins for reinvigorating the Finals with their late-game intensity tonight and Monday night--both games had thrilling white-knuckle endings (though tonight came with an earlier bedtime than Game 5).

And of course, congratulations to the Red Wings for a dominant performance, and to Nicklas Lidstrom as the first European-born team captain to win the Cup.

To read more about the many 2008 Stanley Cup Finals storylines, head over to Kukla's Korner. And to stave off those hockey-withdrawal DTs, remember that CSN is presenting the week-long Capitals: Season to Remember starting on Monday, June 9.

What a compelling finish last night. Down to the last rebound chance. Kudos to both teams; kudos to the Penguins fans (I've been in Pittsburgh all week) for staying crazy about this team (geez, even the seniors down the street from my hotel have Let's Go' Pens posters on their windows!)

Yeah that was an awesome series. Congrats to both teams. Glad the wings won.

Is it October again? Can we get some Caps hockey please?
