A Haven for the Hockey Malnourished

The coldest days best warm my hockey heart

A Look Back at the Hockey Knight in Canada

We first ran this video file back in November of last year, but on this the 10th anniversary of Joe Juneau's goal that sent the Capitals into the Stanley Cup Finals, we thought it merited a re-run. Juneau remains a remarkably committed resident of Kujuwak, Quebec -- a remote Innuit outpost of isolation and despair in very northern Quebec. Around the 58th parallel. Thanks to Caps' Director of Media Relations Nate Ewell, we had a chance to catch up with Juneau this week to survey his thoughts about that great game 10 years ago today, but not surprisingly, that was a small fraction of the discussion. He wanted to talk a lot about the community he was helping. If you haven't seen this NBC News treatment of Juneau, you really should. If you have, you should watch it again.
