Anaheim's GM essentially asked for that schedule to try to get some of their Eastern Conference games out of the way.... Second thing after reading the full transcript I cannot believe that not one reporter asked about inconsistent officiating or the goddamn Shoot Out for next season. Given I am sure Bettman would say that research shows that the "fans" like the Shoot Out. But there is no reason why something shouldn't be done to make officiating more objective and consistent for next season!
