I guess I would have preferred he said “some of the Swedes played very dirty in the first” rather than generalizing to all of them. But I guess it’s no big deal.

I agree that this interview was a lot better than, say, the ones by CSN right after he’s named one of the game’s stars.

JKL, sorry but I disagree. AO didn’t single out Backis, he was commenting about the team in general. I think it just shows how much of a team oriented player he is, when he is playing for a team, he focuses on that team and that team only. He does what it takes to win for the team.
If he would have gone easier, his teammates may have questioned his loyalty to the team, this way, nothing can be questioned.
That is one of the reasons that I like him so much. Even if I didn’t like him, I would have to respect the fact that he is so dedicated to his current team.
I am still amazed at his character and resolve.

Is it possible to like Alex Ovechkin more? What a team oriented guy. Whether it is team Russia or the Caps. He is also very honest and forthright when it comes to the other players in the NHL. I mean who can really fault Malkin at this point. We would love that guy if he played here!

I also admire the fact that he granted the interview because he had promised it. Even though he was obviously tired.

I read this and got chills just thinking about how lucky we are to have him on our team.

It appears that Alex has finally had it with inconsistent officiating! Next season should be really interesting!
