The 2007-08 hockey season has, in the last 24 hours, ended for the Caps, and an enormous number of you have delivered messages of appreciation for our little ‘ole blog. Know that we take all of them to heart. Know also that we regard about 12,800 of you as co-authors in spirit. One reflection in particular made smiling faces of all four of us early this evening:
“Thanks for the insight this year, and for writing in a way that makes the access you have feel like it’s access that I have.”
If we had to identify an enduring inspiration for publishing as we do, since day one, that would be it.
We also aim to get better at it.

Here’s hoping y’all will chime in throughout the rest of the playoffs (any residual snark directed at the Phlyers won’t bother me at all)!

i’m reading it every day since the Christobal Huet acquisition. I live in France and I really enjoyed the end of the Caps season.
It was a disappointment for me that Christo has been traded out of Montreal whereas he was a good goaltender, but I think he found a good place to be with the Caps.
We’ll see what will happen during the summer, but it was really interesting to follow this race for the play-off and then 7 thrilling off season games !

Ditto– my brother in law introduced me to your blog about a month ago and now I check it twice a day! Thanks for all you do for the fans. You certainly helped me keep some sanity during our playoff run. Can’t wait ’til next season! Go Caps!
