Sports Illustrated recently put together a side-by-side comparison of hockey players and their celebrity look-a-likes. Some of the celebrities are a little obscure, and there are a few that missed the mark, but overall, it’s not a bad effort. (The Andrei Markov vs. Rowan Atkinson comparison was especially entertaining.)
Capitals fans will be pleased to note that Mike Green and Alexander Ovechkin are represented in the lineup. Mike Green was compared to Channing Tatum, who apparently is a model-turned-actor. (Nice compliment for Green!) However, the suggestion for Ovechkin’s doppelganger is much more cruel. According to SI, Ovechkin looks most like the guy who played Jaws in the James Bond movies. Ouch. Well, it’s not all bad- perhaps Ovechkin can use those jaws of steel and take a bite out of the Flyers this weekend.

Well, if he would get some dental work done, it could help his image a bit.
For that matter, I don’t get why the players in the NHL don’t wear full face shields. College hockey players are required to. When I was younger and I played, I always wore a full face shield. I remember one game where the puck went wild - I saw it headed straight for me aimed right between the eyes. It bounced harmlessly off the cage and landed in my glove. I dropped it and play continued. No big deal, but it left a definite impression in my mind.
What kind of crap is that, everyone else is compared to models, actors and very attractive musicians…and Alex gets, that.

Jerome Iginla and Mike Tyson?! What an insult. I’m sure many ladies would strongly disagree.
How do they research these things?
Who wants a pretty Hockey player anyhow?
For the guy likened to Mike Green on there - Is breakdanced a word? Or is it brokedance?
Doogie Lidstrom, MD!!! I love it!!!!
I always thought I looked like Nicklas Backstrom. But who the hell am I?
I’m sorry, but Kiel’s greatest role was either in “Happy Gilmore” as the angry fan, or in the MST3K screening of “Human Replicators”
