Maybe I’m worrying too much but why do we have to wait until Friday to start this? Thursday was long enough. Do we want to sit and wait this long between games?
This gives Sarge a chance to heal up and to work kinks out on 5-on-3 PP situations. Thank goodness this isn’t the scheduling snafu of 2000.
So who’s getting bumped off 3WT on Friday? The Caps or the Nats?
@ JJ:
Based on the Caps’ announcement, it seems WJFK will carry the Caps on Friday. Things are always subject to change of course.
@ JR & Aggression:
I think the wait is good. The team has won 11 of their past 12 games; they have to be exhausted & aching. The intensity level of the past month has been incredible . . . now the team can recharge its batteries and tend their injuries. They can use a few days to regroup, to improve things like the PP, and, hopefully, to get healthier.
First off, love the site…big time.
Was there any injury to Laich when he blocked that shot? He looked ragged getting off the ice.
Yes, he did leave the ice with an injury and went directly to the locker room. About 5 minutes later he was taking a few very careful slow turns on the ice to test it…guess it was just a stinger.
So I was looking at the stats this morning. Can anyone explain to me how second leading scorer Danny Briere is a -22 as a forward on a playoff team?
@coves:
I’m sure he has a monster bruise just below his knee . . . but he was skating fine later in the game.
@ TG:
It’s a pretty unusual stat for a playoff-bound team ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äù though 37 of Briere’s 72 points this season came on the PP, and PP points don’t count toward +/-. So basically he’s a PP wizard but a serious defensive liability.
I was so hoping for Sunday night. Or heck… back-to-back on Thur/Fri.
Not a fan of Sunday matinees. Aside from giving other fans too much easy travel time.
Good news is games one and two are both sold out. (My coworker walked over to VC to buy tickets during lunch today. Nothing doing.)
