Capitals Playoff Tickets On Sale Now


Tickets for round 1 (Games 1 and 2) of the Stanley Cup playoffs are now available


ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Washington Capitals have announced that tickets for the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs are now on sale. With the team's 3-1 victory over the Florida Panthers tonight at Verizon Center, the Capitals clinched their first Southeast Division title since 2001, securing the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference and home-ice advantage in the first round of the Stanley Cup quarterfinals. Washington will be making its first playoff appearance since 2003. Dates and times for the first round will be determined on Sunday evening.

Tickets for Games 1 and 2 of the first round are available at the Verizon Center box office for fans in attendance at tonight's game as well as for purchase through all Ticketmaster channels, including Ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster outlets or Ticketmaster by phone (202-397-SEAT). Fans may also purchase tickets for games one and two of the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs at Kettler Capitals Iceplex.

Fans who purchase their playoff tickets through Ticketmaster by phone or online will need to print their tickets using Ticketfast, or have them shipped to their homes. Caps fans interested in purchasing 2008-09 season tickets and locking in playoff seats for all four rounds of the Stanley Cup playoffs may do so by calling the Capitals sales office at 202-266-CAPS.

Yes: As we understand it, Game 1 is Thursday, Game 2 is Sunday, though the league has yet to officially announce the schedule.

Game 1 is probably Thursday as the Wizards are home Wednesday and Friday. Game 2 would most likely be Saturday or Sunday.
