I’ve been pulling for this team since Bruce became coach. Great news to hear, let’s see if this squad can keep it going.

Caps win all tiebreakers except with Carolina (except one crazy case…see far below).
If Montreal closes out Ottawa in regulation, and the Caps win their last 2, the only way they MISS the playoffs is if ALL of the following happens:
    - Carolina wins their last 2 (clinch 3 seed)
    - Boston wins their last 2 besides the Ottawa game (Ottawa/Boston is a don’t care, but Caps hope is doesn’t go into OT)
    - Ottawa wins their last game besides the Boston game
    - Phili picks up 4 points in their last 3 games
    - Rangers pick up 2 points in their last 3 games
So if Caps win out and ONE of the above doesn’t happen, they’re in. If Caps don’t win out, things are really bleak, though.
There’s also a weird scenario with Ottawa where they lose out and Caps lose in OT in both their games. Ottawa gets the tiebreaker against Caps in that scenario.

Oh… Oh, my… that was just glorious.
And, no, nobody wants a piece of this…
I’m just REALLY happy about the overall vibe. If we make the playoffs, great. But next year? I’m so, so excited.

Wow. Officials called it safe tonight. Gotta make a Whalercanes fan believe Bettman made a deposit into certain zebra’s accounts. Cole be a diver, too; leans into Kozlov and falls on his legs and draws a holding call?
And, given the calls that went our way tonight (at long last) can’t Locker shut the f*** up? That was goalie interference, sport. Green didn’t trip the guy. He fell unimpeded into Huet.
In some ways this win has more of a psychological value for the Caps. If Carolina wins their last two they still lock up third place. We’re still looking for help!!! Will we get it? From Montreal tonight, yes. Ottawa is at 6+ periods w/o a goal. Can it last much longer? The Habs were in Ottawa and the crowd was giving one of the teams a standing O – Montreal for the shut out, or mock applause for the Sens.

    vt caps fan,
After the game heading to the locker room, we heard that Journey song long before we got to the locker room door. I think they turned it up to 11.

Gust — yeah that song has been in my head since sunday. Then at some point during the game, comcast came back from a commercial and you could hear it at the VC.
