Iginla is clearly the best player in the West (which might be part of his problem in terms of winning).  But, utlimately, when it comes down to it, if its a forward, points and goals matter.  Even game winning goals. This legalistic &quot;most valuable to the team&quot; disection and hand-wringing that people do is inane.
If you&#039;re talking D or a G against a couple forwards, then yes a more wholistic analysis is appropriate.  We judge goalies on save percentage and wins and we judge forwards on production.</description>
