Whew! Glad I didn't watch after the 1st period, then hotdog. Question to the OFB folks: do bloggers and fans hang out at a certain bar/restaurant (e.g.-Clyde's) before and/or after games? I'm heading down for the last 2 games of the regular season and I'd like to mingle with other fans and bloggers before or after them.

A personal favourite of mine (and the rest of OFB) is Gordon Biersch 1 1/2 blocks west of Verizon Center on F Street. I'm a bit partial as I know the brewer.

Clyde's, Irish Channel, District Chophouse and other fine establishments with tasty puck sodas that are usually filled with like minded individuals.

The Mrs. and I will be ditching the kids for the last game and may enjoy a few at GB.

On Comcast they cut off the first shot (by Carolina) but the rest of the Shootout was intact. Terrific shot by Kozlov!

I listened to part the game on 1500 AM on my way home from dinner. Not sure if it was bumped from any of the other 3WT stations.

Here are the basic tiebreaker rules . . . and yes, we're hoping to apply them to the current situation in the East later in the week, but for now at least you can see the official NHL tiebreakers:

1. The greater number of games won [OC Note: e.g., 41-41-0 beats 40-40-2].

2. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing.

3. The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season.
