I had no idea that he almost got shipped to Boston instead of Carey. Woulda made a bad trade even worse! (Never should have traded Allison or Carter.)
I don’t know if I would say that was a bad trade. I agree that keeping Kolzig was a wise move, but we did gain Oates. I think having Oates on the team really helped them step up the way they did in the playoffs.
Thank you, Caps, for keeping Olie. As I wrote on my blog, I will always be a Kolzig fan.
