  1. This goaltender situation is perfect for the Capitals — the direct competition seems to have re-energized Kolzig. Huet was terrific in his first two games, but no need for Boudreau to jump the gun and name a starter when both are playing well. Platoon them, keep them both healthy and happy, and only name a #1 if a clear hot-hand emerges.

Side note: 1 penalty for Buffalo, with 19 seconds left in the game? Really? C’mon refs. Nice PK for the Caps tonight though.

  2. Kolzig, with his assist on the first goal, is on a point-a-game pace in the last two games. Not bad for a goalie. :)

Ovie was honored by nhl.com again this week–he’s the first star this time!

What they didn’t name Crosby as the first star? I’m shocked! What is this world coming too? Are the Caps and Ovie actually going to continue to get attention now that Crosby is playing again? :)
    Ovie is the man!

The D cleared away those rebounds tonight. Sabres didn’t get the breaks they normally get.

I guess that hit Olie took during last night’s game didn’t affect him much, huh?
