Update: Ted: "We have to win two of the next three games" . . . but "We could make the playoffs without winning the division" . . . He is worried about the return engagement in Boston this Saturday . . . in mid-November "the plan wasn't working -- our players were talented, and they were working hard, but the plan wasn't working" . . . On Olie: "We all love Olie -- but he's 37 years old" . . . "People underestimate how powerful the media market of Washington, D.C., is" . . . "We've had crowds of [over] 17,000 ever since we signed Alex" . . . "Alex is a once-in-a-lifetime player" . . . Tarik on Ovie's Hart chances: "An informal poll of my fellow journalists -- [Alex] is the favorite" . . . Success this season the owner defines as "making the playoffs."

I thought the comment about Olie was the most striking. Up to now people kept repeating the same basic mantra: Kolzig still has some in the tank, he's a Cap as long as he wants to be, Huet coming in has no secret messege. This is the first time someone has pointed out maybe Kolzig's time is done after all. Very interesting.

Fun fact: IF Ovechkin did win the Hart he would be the first LW to win it in over 50 years --- since the great Bobby Hull did it (for the second season in a row) in 1966.
