Caps keep coming back after going down by 2.
    Beautiful shot by Poti.
Semin had a layup and he never lost an edge!!!
Flash’s two turnovers in succession to Chimera just inside the blue line near the end of the game had my stomach turning.

Watched tonights game at Hard Times Cafe in So MD and although I had to direct ‘em through the channels to watch the game…service was superb for the rest of the evening! Give ‘em a try if you can and if in Waldorf, Md, tell Mike that CapsFan sent you!

Ovie saves the day again! Wonderful stuff. Glad to see the second line produce as well. I was scared about the Kozlov move for a minute.
Agreed on Flash, he needs to prove his worth somehow already, since he hasn’t scored much lately and is becoming a defensive liability.

NHL stats…makes me wonder about the validity of the stats. On NHL.com they show flash having 0 turnovers, where he clearly gave over the puck twice in OT.

FINALLY, the guy puts one in the net. Is it me? Or was this about 4 months overdue? Either way, great game….I can sleep tonight.

Not to nit-pick, but its “no back to back REGULATION losses” under BB. Caps lost 3 in a row late in Nov under BB and again in mid January. But in those 6 losses, they got 3 points.

    Thanks for the clarification.

  9. Fair point SpartyCuse — it’s quite a feat to avoid two zero-point games in a row, but an OT loss is still a loss.

I think Semin had a great game – he didn’t try to do too much and was willing to dump the puck when needed to, didn’t take any dumb stick penalties and got back in the defensive end better than I’ve ever seen him. Oh yeah, and he scored.
I’m sure that effort won’t be overlooked by Boudreau and hopefully Semin can keep it up.

I think with Koz on Semin’s line, Semin didn’t think he had to do everything by himself.

I agree..I like Koz on Semin’s line. I think it helps take the pressure off and I’m sure there is more of a connection b/t those two then say b/t him and Gordon/Laich or Flash…

I think Semin’s improved play is directly related to Kozlov moving to the 2nd line center slot. In this role, Kozlov is a true leader. I think Semin looks up to Kozlov and certainly the “communication” between 2 Russians should help. If Semin shows consistent hustle when he does NOT have the puck, and can cut down on the stupid penalties, the 2nd line would be absolutely dangerous. I’m still a believer in Alexander Semin.
