The Alexander Ovechkin Bandwagon does not have NBC Sports as a passenger, at least not yet. They have passed on the Capitals / Rangers matchup for their Game of the Week on February 10th and will show Anaheim at Detriot. Comcast SportsNet has added the Caps/Rags game to its broadcast schedule.
Additionally, U.S. viewers in markets outside of Washington, D.C. will be able to watch the three February games on the NHL Network. Those games are the 6th at Philadelphia, 15th at Florida, and the 20th vs. the New York Islanders.

13 day prior puts the decision point on the Monday before the Caps/Habs game. I wonder if the decision would have been different had the decision been made on Friday.
Screw NBC. This way I don’t have to hear Mike Emrick’s [crappy] voice calling a Caps game.
I’m not sure why. This kid is everything you want to market about the game… he’s enthusiastic, gives it his all every game and oozes skill. Especially with Crosby out, you’d think Alex O would be next best. I wonder if the NHL has the ability to push things a bit.. or if it’s more difficult because of his nationality?
In fairness, haven’t the Rangers been featured already at least twice? I’m tired of seeing a game involving the Rangers on NBC. To play devil’s advocate, if the Caps were playing a different team I bet it would get more consideration.
Great…more games on NHL Network and not on Center Ice…
has a sports channel ever willingly chose not to broadcast a game involving a new york team, when that team was a cellar dweller?
Did you expect anything less from the Nothing
But
Crosby network?
It is surprising that they don’t want Jagr on again.
