Today marks the 15th anniversary of Gary Bettman’s hiring as NHL Commissioner.

Bettman is the longest serving commissioner for the league, as he’s the first. The position was previously designated as NHL President, where Clarence Campbell held the title the longest from 1946 - 1977.

Thanks a lot NBA.
Yeah, well, while WE may all dislike the job he’s doing, his bosses — the owners — obviously approve. So I think all our anger is misdirected.
And as bad as he is, he’s light years better than John Ziegler. Agreed?
You know, I thought today seemed a whole lot more depressing, dark, and gloomy than even a rainy Friday after a big win ought to. Now I know why.
Did anyone watch as Bettman was introduced to the All-Star Game crowd this past weekend? During the expected chorus of boos, he laughed and shrugged his shoulders. Forget acknowledging that he is hated … he obviously enjoys it.
