In what is a hopeful foreshadowing of Monday night’s Igloo visit by the Capitals, the Hersey Bears beat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Baby Pens 3 to 1. Joe Motzko scored the game winner with Chris Bourque notching two assists.
With the win, the Bears climbed into a second place tie in the East Division standings with 50 points. Also with 50 points in the East Division are the Albany River Rats and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The Philadelphia Phantoms lead the division with 58 points.

It should be noted that Chris’ daddy was also in attendance at the game last night.
I actually was at this game (was on my way back to NYC from some wedding planning in PA and realized they were playing an afternoon game.
The first period was pretty awful for the Bears; they looked tired, weren’t controlling the puck, and couldn’t move it into the offensive zone, but Cassivi kept them in it with some key saves.
Anyway, they fought back in the 2nd and 3rd, but the outcome of the game was most definitely in doubt until that last empty-netter.
A lot of fun, though; it was my first Hershey game, and everyone in the stands was really nice (even though I was wearing a neutral jersey - the only hockey thing I had with my was my NYPD sweater).
