The second period is exactly the kind of Caps hockey that I have been expecting to see all season. If anything, we should have had two more goals during that twenty minutes. Outstanding!
If you would have told me before the game that the two Devils’ goals were going to come from a Brashear turnover and Kolzig (who had a pretty strong game) failing to squeeze the pads on a wrap-around, I never would have belie– oh, wait, never mind.

That second period was like watching playoff hockey. Every player (on the Caps anyway) finished off there checks and skated as hard as they could. They worked hard to keep control of the puck, and were so sucessful that when NJ did get it they had to dump it just to get a change. The start of the third was another story all together.

It did feel like a playoff game in the second. And all that without Gordo, Nylander, and Clark. Outstanding game!

  5. I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ll take a stab giving Boudreau?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s system a name: Puck Hunger ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äù a lot of which the Caps had in the second. If you?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢re puck-hungry, the puck finds its way to your stick. If it finds a way to your stick, you have a chance to score, and the Caps did.
