Just got word of a Zamboni catching fire at Kettler Capitals this morning right before the Caps were to skate.
This hasn’t been a good season for the big rigs.
Update: No injuries. The machine was pushed off the ice. Hydrolic fluid, however, pooled on the ice and had to be cut out.
No word if a replacement rig was being summoned from Hershey.

Don’t the Caps use “Olympia Ice Resurfacers?”
As if something else can’t go wrong.
Darn, Yurasko beat me to it. Even so, don’t be besmirching Frank’s good name without just cause, please.
I’m waiting for recall notices to pop up at the rinks I frequent….
In light of the news out of Calgary last week (which was certainly a Zamboni), could the Department of Homeland Security be confronting our nation’s first-ever instance of terrorism directed at the nation’s ice resurfacers?
Sorry, our second zamboni’s just signed a contract with a European team because it wasn’t happy here. You’ll have to take the Stingrays’ instead.
nothing works here!
Teka,
That’s funny.
pucks,
You might be on to something… perhaps they’re testing out their “system” on the lower levels before escalating their game.
Now….if only the team would catch fire…
Zamboni call-ups! Who’d have thunk it. The injury bug isn’t limited to players this year.
