Ovechkin - Nylander - Semin together on the starting line? Heaven forbid! Hanlon must not been around for the shooting of this video other wise it would have been Pettinger - Gordon - Clark or something.

    In a word, “Weak”.

Not one of their better game openers. The music is lame, the action is equally uninspiring. I am hoping this is due to the uniform change and that next year they will have some actual game footage to add.

How many more times do we have to watch them walk in slo-motion. That was cool 5 years ago.

I’d love to see them get a little more creative. Who knows, maybe add some animation or something.

Its even less impactful in person. They ran something before this video on opening night that I recall I really liked. But maybe I was just excited to be there, when our team was a jaw-dropping 1-0.

From the first time I saw it, I thought it was too long. Nothing a bit of editing couldn’t fix. But it’s rather mundane, to me.
It doesn’t grab the crowd the way past ones have, nor is there a changing element (who’s wearing the sunglasses this time? Oates? or — What’s Bart writing on the chalkboard?) to compel one to pay attention to it.

By far, the best moment in it is with all the noise and cameracuts, suddenly — the still and quiet, and just the cloud of breath from Kolzig. That moment makes it worthwhile. If only the rest of it could have been that inspired.
